The video essay includes explanation films, ‘how-to’ films, information films, and guides. It can extend to cover most short films with a narrative.

The objective of this site is not to bring you the content first; I want to analyse, write case studies, explore methodologies and generally poke around (to see if we can work out how such works are made!). This means there won’t be a high volume of entries. It should, however, be especially useful to students of design, film, animation, media and of general interest to visual communicators of all shapes and sizes.
